Malvern Hills Challenge

Saturday 15th May 2010
Malvern Hills,
Worcestershire

A team of walkers from Borwell Ltd at Malvern Hills Science Park are taking up a challenge from St Richard’s Hospice.

Director Andrea Borwell-Fox is heading up a team of staff and their partners in the hospice annual Malvern Hills Walk in May.
Andrea said, “We have a lovely view of the Malverns from our office window, and we have all said that it would be great to walk the hills as a team in May – and raise essential funds for St Richard’s.”

St Richard’s Hospice Community Fundraiser Joanna Street, said: “It’s great that the Borwell team are signing up for the challenge. The Malvern Hills walk is fantastic for team building and is ideal for work colleagues to get out of the office and pull together to achieve their goal.”

Hundreds of walkers of all ages are expected to dig out their walking boots and join the Walk for St Richard’s Hospice on Saturday, 15th May.

Last year over 500 people took part in the event raising over £31,200 towards the hospice work for patients and their families with cancer and other life-threatening illnesses. Organisers hope this year's event will prove to be just as popular.

To walk for St Richard’s or for more information please contact the fundraising team on 01905 763963 or download the registration form at www.strichards.org.uk/malvernwalk

St Richard’s Hospice provides free specialist palliative care for patients living with cancer and other life-threatening illnesses and supports their families. Each year the hospice team supports over 2,100 patients and family members in Worcestershire.

Patients are cared for in Day Hospice, the 16-bed In-patient Unit or in their own homes by a specialist professional team as well as many trained volunteers.

In the In-patient Unit specialist staff are on hand 24 hours a day to manage patients’ symptoms and where, if they so choose, patients may spend the last few days of life in comfort and dignity. St Richard’s is grateful for all donations towards the £4.8m they need to raise this year to continue their work.

Help borwell to reach their target of £1000 by making an online donation today.
